The "Chang" Festival

I love dumplings or in Hokkien "chang" or in Cantonese "chung". The yearly ''chang'' festival falls on May 28. My mum makes the most delicious "chang" ever - not oily, lean meat, chestnuts, egg yolks, red beans hmmmm yummy. After eating her homemade ones, you don't want to eat any others.

Most often, I was disappointed by what I'd bought from the outside sellers, the "chang" tends to be too oily, more pork fats than the meat itself and not much ingredients in it except the glutinous rice and they normally sell it too expensive for that kind of quality of "chang".

This year I hope my mum will make them and freeze it for me so when I'm back, I can fully indulge in it!! Wishful thinking....
