Unexpected Sunday

It was a rainy and cloudy Sunday :( Our plan to cycle to the city was cut short thus we ended up having our late lunch in one of the snacks cafe nearby and did our grocery instead.

On our way back to our apartment, we saw that the roads to our apartment area were blocked and several Spido boats were seen docking in the jetty nearby. The closer we were to our apartment, we heard live music been played at the jetty so we decided to check it out. It was no other than the fans of the football club of FC Tweente '65 coming out from the Spido boats that were docked there. Hundreds and hundreds of them were seen gathering at the jetty for the KNVB (aka Dutch Cup outside the Netherlands) Cup Finals at 6pm. FC Tweente '65 vs SC-Heerenveen. The finals of the tournament traditionally takes place in De Kuip; Stadium Feyenoord (5-10mins walk away and just 2 roads behind our apartment). The organiser is expecting 32,000 fans and hundreds of buses ferrying some of them. Polices and riot polices are stationed in the vicinity of the stadium and traffic were redirected.

I've never been a big fan of soccer game except for World Cup :) but at times when you heard all these cheers coming out from the Stadium and seen all these hard core fans dressed up in their team colours makes you wonder....perhaps one of these days I'll go for a game just to experience the ambience of being one of the thousands of fans cheering in that stadium.
